Programs

The Voluntary Action Center invites those interested to use their life experience and skills to answer the call of their neighbors. Our volunteers are serving at approximately 30 Volunteer Stations around our county.

We assist individuals with long term health needs by providing visits, minor home repairs, transportation/escort, yard work, shopping/errands etc. The hope is to build a relationship between the volunteer and care recipient thus reducing isolation and loneliness.

Meals On Wheels of Dickinson County, Inc. strives to help elderly remain in their homes longer by providing a daily nutritious home delivered meal. As part of administering the program, volunteers are used in container preparation, delivery, billing, and coordination of volunteers.

The Voluntary Action Center enlists volunteers to assist clients with transportation to medical appointments locally as well as to out of town appointments.
